In Confessions of an Illuminati Volume 9: Seven Steps to The Secrets of the New World Disorder from Transhumanism and Immortality to Gnostic Jesus, UFOs, and Insect Witchcraft, I wrote about “the possible risks of the rapid growth of quantum computing,” describing it as “The Quantum Prince of Darkness,” a term coined by John Carpenter’s 1987 Prince of Darkness, where “a modern quantum computer is described in the film as the corporeal embodiment of Satan.”
In Volume 9, I explained why quantum computers “must be considered as a major turning point as they “represent the last stage of Cyber Satan’s development before its takeover of mankind,” but I also sent a powerful warning to all the cryptocurrency blockchain lovers because, “Even Blockchain technology which relies on asymmetric key cryptography algorithms (RSA, EC), could be cracked for the first time,” thanks to quantum computers and “companies and consumers increasingly investing in blockchain technology these days, could face in the near future a big economic risk.”
Bitcoin’s private keys won’t be breached any time soon say the experts, but the industry still needs to transition to “post-quantum cryptography” asap to survive the quantum disaster I envisioned in Volume 9 of my Confessions. A glim view of the future is confirmed by an academic study in which Chinese researchers employed a D-Wave quantum computer to breach encryption algorithms used to secure bank accounts, top-secret military data, and crypto wallets, something that at first glance seems at least a matter of deep concern even for the skeptics who challenged the warnings I made in Volume 9.
“This is the first time that a quantum computer has posed a real and substantial threat to multiple full-scale SPN [substitution-permutation network] structured algorithms in use today,” wrote Shanghai University scientists in a peer-reviewed paper, according to an Oct. 11th report in the South China Morning Post (SCMP). The paper talks about breaking RSA (Rivest-Shamir-Adleman) encryption, one of the oldest and most widely used public-key cryptosystems. Details about the latest research in this sector have been slow to emerge especially from China, so it’s difficult to say for sure how dire the threat is to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology in general, but please remember what I wrote about it in Volume 9, as this is a “huge societal risk.” The academic report has yet to be released in English as of October 22, 2024, and the researchers involved aren’t taking any interviews, supposedly “due to the topic’s sensitivity,” according to state-controlled SCMP.
But if the researchers’ results hold up and can be duplicated by others, “it is a step forward” in the evolution of quantum computing, Marek Narozniak, a physicist with a background in quantum computing and the founder of Sqrtxx.com, told Cointelegraph. At this point, doesn’t this mean that the password-protection mechanisms used in many industries, including banking and cryptocurrencies, might soon be vulnerable, as I tried to warn you about in Volume 9? Massimiliano Sala, a full professor and the head of the Laboratory of Cryptography at the University of Trento, Italy, told Cointelegraph, “From the academic paper in question, many details are missing, so it is difficult to provide a definite answer” about its possible significance.”
Much depends on whether the scientists could break RSA keys of a certain size — i.e., keys as large as those used by banks to secure customers’ savings and checking accounts today. “There is no evidence of that,” said Sala. But if they had, it would be “huge,” he said. Quantum computing (QC), which uses atomic “spin” instead of an electrical charge to represent its binary 1s and 0s, is evolving at an exponential rate, many say. But full-purpose QC devices have yet to emerge at scale. The D-Wave machines used in Shanghai, sometimes called quantum annealers, are proto-quantum computers, or forerunners, capable of conducting specialized tasks only.
However, when universal quantum computers do emerge, some worry they could threaten the elliptic curve cryptographic structure that has served Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies very well, until now, just as I wrote about in my book.
