Article by Leo Zagami

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has decried the prevalence of chronic disease and the “mass poisoning” of Americans by food and it’s something we need to change. In Italy, gathering to share a meal with family and friends is an event that is anticipated and celebrated, and in every region, there is a style to the way they make Italian food.

Italians in Rome use different ingredients and techniques than Italians in the northern or southern parts of Italy, and let’s not forget Sicily! I was lucky enough to introduce my wife Christy Zagami to the secrets of Italian cooking during our time together living in Italy and she has done an excellent job in replicating the best authentic Italian dishes since we were forced to move here to America in 2019.

My wife writes in her cookbook’s description: “I was born in Brooklyn, New York, which always seemed like the capital of great Italian food in America, but when I moved to Italy, I realized how different even the pizza was. In this cookbook, you will learn how to make pasta sauce, pasta, bread, pizza, and much more, like a real Italian chef! I have gathered all my favorite Italian recipes sure to impress your family and friends. So, without further ado, Let’s start cooking!”

One of the 5-star reviews left on Amazon for the Zagami Family Cookbook, says “Sit back with a glass of wine, & enjoy planning which of Christy’s recipes you are going to prepare first! And it will be a hard choice, believe me, because they all look delicious!” and another one instead says “Great pictures, the book itself is a decent size, the print easy to read, and the directions are easy to follow. I tried the Balsamic Chicken first and will be making it again, even my daughter cleaned the plate! I’m most excited to try some of the traditional Italian pizza recipes, I’m a pizza addict haha.”

I like to eat like a king in my home and there is a variety of dishes in Christy’s cookbook masterpiece that also includes the secrets of how to make fresh pasta and much more.

With Robert F. Kennedy Jr. now lined up to lead the Department of Health and Human Services and pledging to transform America’s food system, it appears our Make America Healthy Again movement is poised for real power and as I reminded you in Volume 9 of my Confessions “You are what You eat,” and it all starts in our kitchens.
